Amp used for underground water leak finder
I used this to build a water pipe leak finder. I used a 9volt battery and an external microphone on the input. A 10K pullup resistor and a .1ufd coupling capacitor was required on the input . Used compressor to apply 25lbs air to the pipe and listened for air bubbles.

Useful compact amplifier, though with a slight stability problem
I tested two boards, and found that if the amplifier is powered from 11V or more, with the input grounded, and with the pot set near center, there will be a slight oscillation. This is due to sensitive feedback components C1 and R1 being routed in a large loop around the noisy output snubber C4 and R2. It is also likely the reason why they used 100 ohms for snubber R2, instead of 10 ohms recommended by the LM386 datasheet. I fixed this by lifting IC pins 1 and 8 off the board, gluing a 10uF X7R on top of the IC, and then wiring it to pins 1 and 8. H.Bustani, NV
Pipe and cable locator amp
I am using this module to replace one that I was building myself including the pcb board using an LM386 IC. This module works better than the one I was using before and greatly reduced my manufacturing cost. Great product.
