These thicker walled boxes have molded in groove for the neoprene gasket and are ideal for outdoor or indoor areas subject to dust, debris, moisture or rough handling. The cover screws are stainless and are on the outer edge of the box outside the gasket to prevent leakage around the screws. You can use the molded in stand offs or the grooves in the box for mounting your circuit board.
IP65 is a code designation for a Protection Rating. IP65 is not an immersion test. The code calls for “Dust Tight” no ingress of dust and No water ingress with water jet test pressure of 30kPa at 3m through a 6.3mm nozzle from any direction. The IP65 Sealed Plastic Enclosure is used when content protection from the elements is needed, but the expense of an Aluminum Enclosure is not warranted.
