Where this bulb won't work
Got a couple of these for the back deck, in-ceiling canister lighting. No, they won't work there and it appears that they trigger themselves. Any other place, they work fine. Should have known, but I thought I would try it.

Great Motion Detecting Lamp
The motion detection employed for this lamp is microwave unlike a passive infrared detector which allows it to detect motion better and further away and in all directions. It will actually detect motion through a wood door, and down a hallway. The lamp is in the lower lumens range but not bad though it is cold with a 5000 Kelvin color. It automatically turns off when motion is not detected for about 10 seconds, and turns off during the day or when ambient light is present. The lamp has the appearance and size of a regular LED lamp bulb. The voltage rating is given as 90 to 265 Volts AC. Not sure on the longevity but works great.

Not long lasting : | ||
I bought two of these a few months ago. One lasted about three months, the second four months. Both indoors, in climate controlled environment. I was disappointed. Especially that LEDs should last a lot longer than that. The LEDs might still be good. I suspect that the regulation circuit may have failed. I’ll have to check the circuitry once I find some free time. I would not buy this bulb again.

A good alternative to night lights
For the money this light is an excellent value and the motion detector seems to have more than adequate sensitivity, at least 15 ft. range with a clear line of sight and maybe 6 or 7 feet through a single wall. My original plan was to install this in a hallway and have it switch on when sensing motion from a nearby room whose door is 2 ft. away but the door itself reduced the range in that direction to about 3 ft. With the bulb oriented above its base it would sense movement from a dog walking almost directly below which was unexpected. The bulbs on time is about 15 seconds after movement stops. As for the light itself the 6500K color is a bit on the cold end of the scale and the brightness seems to be as advertised

Good concept but could be better.
Its hard to know which way the sensors are aimed. My unit lights up only after I open the door. Surprisingly, 4 watts seems plenty bright enough.

they work just as advertised
They work just like the description says. They wont come on during daylight. Quite bright and a very cool white color. Respond from about 15 feet away. I pulled the bulb apart like they show in the video and put pink colored gel over the LEDs. Cut down the brightness but got a more pleasant coloring!
