Good connectors | ||
Contrary to a previous review, the same shells fit BOTH MALE AND FEMALE crimp pins. I recommend 24awg or smaller wire.

Kit only includes male shells
I bought two of these kits so Id have enough for awhile. They are nice but be aware that only male cable-mount shells are provided. Male and female pins are included but only the female pins make sense inside the shells provided. To make a cable-to-board mated pair you will need to find the PCB-mount female shells and pins elsewhere.

Perfect for young STEM/STEAM students!
Even young STEM/STEAM students can create perfect connections every time IF they use the correct crimping tool! The right tool is the inexpensive Radio Shack 276-1595 D-sub crimping tool or exact equivalent. Like D-sub connectors, 0.10 pitch pins and receptacles use a slightly different crimp for the insulation and for the conductor. The correct tool crimps both insulation and conductor precisely and in one step.

These connectors work perfectly and are worth it for the price.
