Panel Meters are basically any meter that is or can be mounted on or through a panel. This broad definition of Panel Meter could really cover meters in a car, in a radio, or a power plant. Anything such as Pressure, Voltage, Temperature or Strain that can be converted into an electrical current can be displayed on a Panel Meter. All meters, whether Analog or Digital, are HIDs or Human Interface Device (Like a GUI to you computer guys) meaning that they convey a visual indication of the operating parameters of something. The larger the Panel Meter in the farther you can see the value. This holds true with either Digital or Analog Panel Meters. Analog Panel Meters require a trained “Eye” to interpret the needle location where a Digital is very dependant on Digit Size, resolution and color. All meters have accuracy specifications with Analog Panel Meters commonly rated by Class. A Class 2.5 would be 2.5%. .Digital Panel Meters are around 0.2%+ depending on the signal to be measured. So in some applications a Digital is called for, but for many Analog Panel meters can be quite accurate and easy to use. Analog Panel Meters require no power to operate so no batteries, power supplies or cords!! Sealed units will last for many years. Digital not so good here, even sealed, parts inside will deteriorate & fail and they do require some form of power to operate, either derived from the measured source or a battery or other power input. We have Panel Meters in Analog or Digital types. Panel Meters should not be confused with the term Multimeters, or self contained voltage/Current/resistance meters. These items fall under the category of Test Equipment.
Our Panel Meters are the finest quality. Panel Meters are basically any meter that is or can be mounted on or through a panel.
