Works great | ||
This is my first hot air rework station. Been using to remove parts as part of a modification where I was using the tweezer type soldering iron before. I thought it burned out after using the first time because the air just turned off a little while after turning off the Heater. Turns out the unit goes through a 55 second air cooling cycle then shuts down completely until I turn ON the heater again.

It turns off completely after a minute
Those who say it wont turn off need to be patient. When first plugged in and when switched off the air pump runs on to cool the gun. Then it goes off. If your doesnt it is defective.
Good value but..... | ||
Honestly, it does everything I hoped it would, plus one thing more. You cant shut it off! Can only turn off the heat, not the pump! Yes, Ill add a separate switch but.....

Works like a champ. | ||
I have used my Hot Air station from MPJA for quite a few years now and it will just not stop working. I am very impressed, you have to make sure you turn it off, of course, I have seen one kill its self. I use mine to do SMT, TH and BGAs at my desk, it is great to be able to perform that kind of work without needing the most expensive machines.

Awesome little machine for the money
Ive had this unit for about 2 weeks. I have all ready removed a 48pin QFP ST Micro and used it to heat shrink. It works great! The fan starts running as soon as you plug it in and the on/off switch only controls the heat. But, another switch could easily be added. But, for the price, you just cant beat it!

Seems to work pretty well!
Ive used this only a dozen or so, but it has worked great those few times. Temp/airflow adjustments seem to work fine. This is one of those tools you dont use very often but is worth its weight in gold when you have to remove a connector or chip.
