Excellent to step down voltages for amateur radio use.
Needed a 13.8 to 8.2 V step down to power an amateur handheld radio for use as a base This works perfectly. No overheating issues, even without a heat sink at a high duty cycle.

Simple DC Boost Converter works weel
I used this item to boost 5 VDC to 12 VDC to run a ham radio receiver. The boost converter works very well at these voltages and is easy to set and forget. Very good for the low price!
